気高い
Meaning
Noble; lofty; sublime; dignified. Describes a person, spirit, or bearing that radiates innate dignity and moral elevation.
An i-adjective that expresses a quality of natural refinement and moral elevation — not the nobility of rank but of character and spirit. 気高い differs from 高貴な (aristocratic) by emphasising inner dignity rather than social standing. Often used to describe the bearing of a person who is above pettiness, or the sublimity of nature, music, or ideal.
