詐欺
意味
Scam or fraud — also used hyperbolically to mean something is so good or so different from expectations that it feels like deception.
詐欺 has a dual life in modern Japanese. In its literal sense, it refers to serious crimes like オレオレ詐欺 (phone scams targeting elderly) and フィッシング詐欺 (phishing). But in slang, 詐欺 is used humorously — 詐欺メイク ('scam makeup' that transforms your appearance), 詐欺写真 ('scam photos' with extreme filters), or 'この値段で詐欺レベルに美味しい' (so good at this price it's criminal). The slang usage is lighthearted and carries no criminal connotation.
