츄니뵤(中二病)는 14세 전후에 흔한 부끄러운 행동을 뜻한다: 다치지도 않은 팔에 붕대를 감거나, '어두운 과거'가 있다고 주장하거나, 철학적인 수수께끼 같은 말투로 말하거나, 자신에게 봉인된 초능력이 있다고 우기는 것이다. 청소년기의 허세를 비웃는 말이지만, 대부분의 사람들이 자신의 중2병 시절을 떠올리기 때문에 애정을 담아 사용된다. '중2병이라도 사랑이 하고 싶어!(中二病でも恋がしたい!)' 이후 주요 애니메이션 장르가 되었다.
