Meaning

Previously; for some time; beforehand. Indicates something has been the case since before the present moment.

An adverb meaning for some time now or previously, often used with から (kara) as かねてから to emphasise the duration. Expresses that a state or desire has existed well before the current moment. More literary and formal than 前から (mae kara). Common in written Japanese, speeches, and formal conversation.
