あっという間
Meaning
In an instant; in the blink of an eye; before you know it. Expresses how quickly time passes.
An expression and noun meaning an extremely short period of time — literally the time it takes to say ah! Used to express surprise at how quickly something happened or passed. Very commonly used in daily conversation. Often followed by に (ni) as an adverbial phrase: あっという間に. Can describe both positive and negative situations where time flew by.
