便宜上
Meaning
For convenience; as a matter of convenience. Done pragmatically rather than ideally.
An adverb used to explain that something is done for practical reasons rather than because it is technically correct or ideal: 便宜上そう呼んでいる (we call it that for convenience). Very common in academic, technical, and business writing where provisional names, categories, or methods are adopted for practical purposes. Signals that the speaker is aware the approach is imperfect but pragmatically useful.
