鑑みる
意味
To consider carefully in light of a reference point, past example, or present circumstances; to reflect on and draw lessons from.
A Group 2 (ichidan) verb found almost exclusively in formal written and spoken Japanese. Most commonly appears in the set patterns ~に鑑みて or ~に鑑みると, meaning 'in consideration of ~' or 'in light of ~.' The kanji 鑑 means both a physical mirror and a moral or historical exemplar, carrying a nuance of using precedent or circumstances as a reflective guide for present judgment.
