多角化
Meaning
Diversification; branching out. The expansion of a business or portfolio into multiple different sectors, products, or activities.
A key concept in corporate strategy, 多角化 (used with する) describes moving beyond a single core business to spread risk or pursue growth. 事業の多角化 (jigyō no takakuka, business diversification) is the most common collocation. Strategy theorists distinguish between related and unrelated diversification (関連多角化 vs 非関連多角化). The term is also used in agriculture, investment, and policy contexts.
