内紛
Meaning
Internal strife; infighting; discord arising from within an organisation or group.
A noun describing conflict that originates from within — whether inside a political party, corporation, family, or nation. Less severe than 内乱 (civil war), 内紛 typically refers to power struggles, policy disagreements, and factional disputes that damage the cohesion of a body without necessarily turning violent. It is a common term in Japanese political journalism.
