範疇
Meaning
Category; scope; domain; range. A defined conceptual boundary or classification within which things are grouped or considered.
A noun with strong philosophical roots, used to translate Aristotle's and Kant's concept of 'categories.' Used in formal and academic discourse: 〜の範疇に入る (to fall within the category of), 〜の範疇を超える (to go beyond the scope of). More formal and abstract than カテゴリー.
