もてなし
意味
Hospitality; entertainment; reception; the spirit of selfless, anticipatory care for guests.
An important cultural concept in Japan. While もてなし refers to hospitality in general, おもてなし has become globally associated with Japanese-style service excellence — the anticipation of guests' needs before they are expressed. The term gained international recognition during Japan's bid for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Deeply connected to concepts of 気遣い (consideration) and 心配り (attentiveness).
