Meaning
Thank you; to thank. The universal expression of gratitude in Mandarin.
The most common way to express thanks in Mandarin, used in virtually every situation from casual to semi-formal. Stronger gratitude can be expressed with 非常谢谢 or 谢谢你/您. The response is typically 不客气 (you're welcome), 没事 (no worries), or 不用谢 (no need to thank me). Also used as a verb: 我要谢谢你 (I want to thank you).

Origin & History
