枠組み
Meaning
Framework; structure; frame. A basic supporting structure, either physical or conceptual.
A noun with both concrete and abstract senses. Physically, it refers to a frame or structural skeleton (like a building frame). Abstractly, it means a conceptual framework, system, or set of guidelines. The abstract sense is far more common in N2-level texts: 制度の枠組み (institutional framework), 枠組みを作る (to create a framework), 枠組みの中で (within the framework of).
