楽観
Meaning
Optimism; taking an optimistic view. A positive outlook on situations or outcomes.
A noun and する verb meaning to view things positively or optimistically. The opposite is 悲観 (pessimism). Commonly used in the adjectival form 楽観的 (optimistic) and as a する verb: 楽観する (to be optimistic about), though 楽観視する (to view optimistically) is also frequent. Can carry a slightly cautionary nuance — 楽観できない (cannot be optimistic) implies the situation is more serious than it appears.
