Meaning

Nuance; a subtle difference in meaning, tone, or feeling.

A katakana loanword from French/English 'nuance.' Used to describe subtle distinctions in language, colour, flavour, or any domain where fine differences matter. Very common in language learning discussions (この言葉のニュアンス, the nuance of this word) and creative fields. Often paired with 微妙な (bimyou na, subtle) for emphasis.
