蘇る
Meaning
To revive; to be resurrected; to come back to life. Used for living things returning from death or unconsciousness, and for things once lost or forgotten being restored.
A Group 1 (godan) intransitive verb. Beyond literal revival, it is widely used figuratively: memories coming back (記憶が蘇る), a community being revitalised (街が蘇る), or a cultural tradition being restored. The sense of return from a lost or dead state is always present.
