所得格差
Meaning
Income disparity; income inequality. The gap in earnings between different segments of society.
A compound noun referring to the difference in income levels across individuals, households, or social groups. It is often discussed alongside 貧富の差 (wealth inequality) and measured using indicators such as the Gini coefficient (ジニ係数). In Japan the expansion of non-regular employment (非正規雇用) since the 1990s is frequently cited as a driver of growing 所得格差.
