講じる
Meaning
To take measures; to implement countermeasures; to lecture on; to expound. A formal verb for deliberate, considered action or explanation.
A Group 2 (ichidan) verb, the modern form of 講ずる (kōzuru). The primary contemporary meaning is to implement deliberate measures — 対策を講じる (to take countermeasures), 措置を講じる (to implement measures). A secondary meaning — to deliver a lecture or expound upon a subject — is less frequent but appears in academic and traditional contexts.
