ひそか
意味
Secret; private; covert; surreptitious. Done quietly without others knowing.
A na-adjective describing something done privately or without public knowledge: ひそかな楽しみ (a secret pleasure), ひそかに期待する (to secretly hope). Softer and more literary than 秘密の (himitsu no, secret), carrying a nuance of quiet discretion rather than deliberate concealment. Often used for private emotions or wishes that one keeps to oneself. The kanji form 密か appears in writing but ひそか in hiragana is equally common.
