Medium; carrier; a substance or channel through which something is transmitted, conveyed, or communicated. Includes physical media, biological vectors, and information media.
A noun used across physics, biology, communications, and media studies. In physics, a medium transmits waves (e.g. air for sound). In biology, a 媒体 (vector) carries and transmits a pathogen.
