恨不得
含义
To wish one could; to so badly want to do something that one can barely hold back; to itch to do something — often with the implication that it is impossible or hypothetically extreme.
恨不得 is a highly expressive colloquial phrase conveying intense longing, sometimes frustrated longing. The structure is 恨不得 + verb phrase. It differs from 希望 (to hope) in emotional intensity and informality. It can express joyful desire (恨不得马上出发 — itching to set off at once) or exasperated frustration (恨不得拂袖而去 — so annoyed one wishes one could just walk away). Ubiquitous in spoken Chinese.
