Meaning
So; therefore; that is why. A conjunction expressing a cause-and-effect relationship.
Used to state a reason or explain a result. Can appear at the beginning of a sentence to connect to the previous statement, or within a sentence. More casual than ですから. Also used colloquially as an interjection meaning 'I told you so!' or 'That is exactly why.'
Examples
- 雨が降っています。だから、傘を持っていきましょう。 It's raining. So, let's bring an umbrella.
- 明日はテストです。だから、今日は勉強します。 There's a test tomorrow. That's why I'm studying today.
- お金がない。だから、買えません。 I don't have any money. So I can't buy it.
