Meaning

So; therefore; that is why. A conjunction expressing a cause-and-effect relationship.

Used to state a reason or explain a result. Can appear at the beginning of a sentence to connect to the previous statement, or within a sentence. More casual than ですから. Also used colloquially as an interjection meaning 'I told you so!' or 'That is exactly why.'

  1. 雨が降っています。だから、傘を持っていきましょう。 It's raining. So, let's bring an umbrella.
  2. 明日はテストです。だから、今日は勉強します。 There's a test tomorrow. That's why I'm studying today.
