Intention; purpose; will. A person's conscious desire or determination to do something.
A noun referring to one's personal intention or will. Distinguished from 意志 (also いし), which emphasises strong willpower and determination, while 意思 focuses on the intent or desire itself. Common in legal and formal contexts: 意思表示 (expression of intent), 意思確認 (confirmation of intent). Often used with を持つ (to have), を示す (to show), and を尊重する (to respect).
