Meaning
To fire; to dismiss from employment. The act of formally terminating someone from a position.
A Group 3 (irregular) する-verb formed from the noun 解雇. The passive form 解雇される (to be fired) is extremely common. In Japanese workplace culture, directly saying 解雇する is blunt; euphemisms like リストラ (restructuring) are often preferred.
