帯電
Meaning
Electrification; the acquisition of an electric charge by an object, typically through friction or induction. Refers to both static charging and the charged state itself.
A noun (also used as a suru-verb) describing the process by which an object becomes electrically charged. 帯電 is central to electrostatics, and the term appears in discussions of lightning, semiconductor manufacturing, dust adhesion, and industrial safety. Opposite of 放電 (discharge).
Examples
- プラスチックの下敷きを摩擦すると帯電して紙片が引き寄せられる。 When you rub a plastic clipboard, it becomes electrically charged and attracts small pieces of paper.
- 帯電した粒子が電場の中で偏向する現象を実験で確認した。 The phenomenon of charged particles being deflected in an electric field was confirmed through experiment.
- 工場では静電気の帯電を防ぐために作業員が導電性の靴を着用する。 In factories, workers wear conductive shoes to prevent static electricity buildup.
