不言実行
Meaning
Action without words; acting without boasting or preaching. Doing what must be done quietly, without talking about it beforehand.
A yojijukugo (four-character idiom) that praises the virtue of quiet, determined action without announcements or justification. It contrasts with 有言実行 (keeping one's stated promise). In Japanese culture, 不言実行 is associated with stoic, traditional values — fulfilling one's duty humbly without seeking recognition or making advance promises.
