Time, Change & Continuity
Vocabulary for duration, transitions, pace, memory, and long-term change
Introduction
Advanced Japanese often pays close attention to sequence, continuity, and the feel of change over time. This chapter includes words for intervals, lingering effects, historical flow, and the pacing of events and relationships.
These terms are especially valuable in essays, reflective prose, and any context where time is treated as more than a calendar fact.
