過保護
意味
Overprotective; overindulgent; an excessive degree of care or sheltering that prevents the development of independence, especially in a parent-child context.
Composed of 過 (excessive) and 保護 (protection/care). Functions primarily as a na-adjective (過保護な) but is also used nominally. A key term in child development, psychology, and family counselling discussions in Japan. 過保護な親 (overprotective parents) are often seen as contributing to children's inability to cope with adversity. Distinct from 過干渉 in that 過保護 emphasises excessive shielding rather than excessive meddling.
