意味

Alias; another name; pseudonym; epithet. An alternative name by which a person or thing is known.

A noun for a name used in addition to or instead of the official name. Unlike 渾名 (nickname with informal, often humorous overtones), 異名 can be formal or semi-formal — an epithet conferred by admirers, a pen name, or a historical sobriquet. 異名を取る is a set phrase meaning 'to be known as' or 'to earn the epithet of'.
