弾劾
意味
Impeachment; denunciation; censure. A formal charge or process brought against a public official for misconduct, abuse of power, or violation of duty.
In the Japanese legal system, the 弾劾裁判所 (Court of Impeachment) is the body by which the National Diet can remove judges found guilty of misconduct. More broadly, 弾劾 refers to any formal challenge or public condemnation of a person in authority. The concept is well-known internationally through US presidential impeachment proceedings.
