Meaning

So much so that; to the extent that; with the result that. A conjunction indicating that the preceding situation has reached such a degree that the following consequence naturally follows.

Don't Say

  • 他以至于很努力 — 以至于 introduces a result/consequence clause; it cannot precede an independent description of effort; use 因此、所以 for simple causal connections, or restructure to place 以至于 after a degree statement
