A chengyu typically appearing in negative constructions (不能/不可/不宜相提并论) to emphasise that two things are too different in quality, scale, or nature to be fairly compared. Occasionally used positively when the comparison is valid.

피해야 할 표현

  • 他们两人可以相提并论 — while grammatically possible, be specific about what dimension is being compared; vague usage weakens the argument; always specify the basis of comparison
