Meaning
Surely; undoubtedly; almost certainly; most likely. Expresses strong confidence that something will happen.
An adverb expressing high probability (roughly 90%). Weaker than 必ず (kanarazu, without fail/100%) but stronger than たぶん (tabun, probably/60-70%). Often used to encourage, reassure, or make predictions. Very common in everyday conversation.
Examples
- 明日はきっといい天気になりますよ。 Tomorrow will surely be nice weather.
