輸血
Meaning
Blood transfusion. The medical procedure of transferring blood into a patient.
A noun and suru-verb referring to the transfer of blood or blood products into a patient. Used both transitively (輸血する, to transfuse) and intransitively (輸血を受ける, to receive a transfusion). Common in emergency medicine, surgery, and discussions about blood donation (献血, kenketsu). Japan has a well-organised blood donation system run by the Japanese Red Cross.
