論証
Meaning
Proof; demonstration; argument; logical reasoning. The process of establishing the truth of a proposition through structured, evidence-based argumentation.
In logic and philosophy, 論証 refers to a sequence of statements where premises lead to a conclusion. Distinct from 立証 (which emphasises empirical evidence) and 証明 (mathematical proof), 論証 focuses on the structure and coherence of the argument itself. A valid 論証 follows the rules of formal logic, while a sound 論証 also has true premises. Used widely in academic writing, debate, philosophy, and legal argumentation.
