力学
Meaning
Mechanics; dynamics. The branch of physics dealing with the motion of objects and the forces that cause or affect motion.
力学 encompasses statics (静力学) and dynamics (動力学), and is divided into classical (古典力学), quantum (量子力学), and relativistic mechanics. As a suffix, -力学 forms compound disciplines such as 熱力学 (thermodynamics), 流体力学 (fluid mechanics), and 統計力学 (statistical mechanics). Also used figuratively for the underlying forces driving social, political, or economic systems.
