暁
Meaning
Dawn; daybreak. Also used in the grammatical pattern 〜の暁に to mean 'when the time comes for…' or 'in the event of…'.
A literary noun with poetic connotations, frequently appearing in classical literature and formal writing. The pattern 〜の暁には is an important N1 grammar construction meaning 'when/if X is achieved'. Distinguished from 夜明け by its more elevated, literary register.
