意味

How much; no matter how. Used to emphasise degree, often with ～ても to express 'no matter how much.'

An adverb used in two main patterns: (1) exclamatory — どんなにうれしかったか (how happy I was!), and (2) concessive with ～ても — どんなに努力しても (no matter how hard one tries). The second pattern is especially common at N3 level. Stronger and more emotional than いくら (ikura), which is more neutral.
