弁論
意味
Argument; debate; pleading; oral argument. The act of presenting one's case or argument through speech, especially in a legal or formal deliberative setting.
In legal contexts, 弁論 refers specifically to the oral arguments and pleadings submitted before a court, a stage of proceedings known as 口頭弁論 (kōtō benron). In general usage it describes formal oratory or debate, as in 弁論大会 (benron taikai, a public speaking or debate competition). A skilled orator may be called a 弁論家 (benronka). The related word 弁護 (bengo) means legal defence, while 弁論 emphasises the act of argument itself.
