Meaning

Bachelor's degree; bachelor (academic title). The first level of university degree, awarded upon successful completion of an undergraduate programme.

In the Chinese education system, 学士 is the formal title for a bachelor's degree holder, equivalent to B.A. or B.Sc. in Western systems. The full term is often 学士学位. Historically, 学士 was also an official court title in imperial China for scholars who drafted imperial edicts.
