随心所欲
Meaning
To do as one pleases; to act entirely according to one's own desires without restraint or external constraint.
A four-character idiom (成语). Can be used positively to describe creative freedom or a relaxed lifestyle, or negatively to imply selfishness or disregard for social norms. Originates from the Analects of Confucius (论语), where Confucius describes the attainment of virtue at seventy: 从心所欲,不逾矩 (following one's heart's desires without transgressing the rules).
