艰辛
Meaning
Hardship; toil; the bitter experience of enduring great difficulty over a sustained period.
Focuses on the subjective experience of suffering through difficulty, rather than the objective dangerousness of a situation. Often appears with 历尽 (having experienced thoroughly) or 饱尝 (having tasted fully). Frequently used in descriptions of parents' sacrifices, pioneer struggles, or life's trials. More emotionally resonant than 困难, it implies deep personal cost.
