Meaning

To need; to require; need. Expresses necessity or a requirement for something.

One of the most fundamental verbs in Chinese. Functions as both a verb (我需要帮助 I need help) and a noun (满足大家的需要 meet everyone's needs). More versatile and colloquial than 需求. Can be followed by a verb (需要学习 need to study) or a noun (需要时间 need time).
