インプレゾンビ
Meaning
Impression zombie; a spam account that hijacks viral posts with irrelevant replies to farm views and monetisation.
A compound of インプレ (short for impression, meaning view count) and ゾンビ (zombie). After X (formerly Twitter) introduced ad revenue sharing based on impressions, a wave of low-quality accounts began replying to trending posts with spam, nonsense, or stolen content purely to attract clicks. Japanese users coined インプレゾンビ to describe these accounts. The term spread rapidly in 2023–2024 and is now a standard part of Japanese social media vocabulary.

Origin & History
Coined on Japanese X (Twitter) following the 2023 introduction of ad revenue sharing on the platform. インプレ (impression) + ゾンビ (zombie) captures the idea of accounts that mindlessly swarm popular posts to feed on view counts, much like zombies drawn to activity.
