Covers both the prosodic dimension (intonation, stress, pace) and the pragmatic dimension (assertiveness, politeness, tentitiveness, authority). In linguistics, 语气 also refers to grammatical mood (indicative, imperative, subjunctive). In everyday use, key collocations: 语气强硬 (forceful/stern tone), 语气温和 (gentle tone), 语气坚定 (firm tone), 改变语气 (to change one's tone).
