Meaning

To guide; to show the way. Providing direction, either physically or through advice and leadership.

More formal than 带路. Used for moral, spiritual, or career guidance as well as physical directions. Common subjects include 灯塔 (lighthouse), 导师 (mentor), 理想 (ideals). Also a noun: 路标的指引 (the guidance of road signs).
