Field of vision; breadth of perspective; horizon of knowledge and experience. The range of what one has seen, knows, or can perceive — both literal and figurative.
Commonly used in the figurative sense: 开阔眼界 (to broaden one's horizons), 眼界宽广 (broad perspective), 眼界狭隘 (narrow-minded; limited in perspective). Distinct from 眼光 (discernment; taste) — 眼界 is about breadth of exposure, while 眼光 is about the quality of judgement.
