Meaning
Next issue; next period; the following installment or term in a regular series. Refers to the next scheduled edition, session, cycle, or period in a recurring sequence.
Used for magazines, newsletters, broadcasts, financial periods, training sessions, and examination cycles. More formal than 下一期 in written and editorial contexts. Commonly seen in print media, financial reports, and institutional announcements. Pairs with 上期 (previous issue/period) and 本期 (current issue/period).

- 下期 in everyday casual speech — 下次 is more natural for personal plans or informal scheduling; 下期 is specifically editorial, institutional, or financial in register and sounds stilted in conversation
