Meaning
On the spot; right there; at that very location; locally (using local resources).
An adverb meaning 'at the location in question' — either spatially (right where something is happening) or resourcefully (making use of what is locally available). Used in military, emergency, legal, and logistical contexts. In modern usage, also common in everyday speech to mean 'right then and there' without moving elsewhere.
