境遇
Meaning
One's circumstances; lot in life; the situation one encounters.
Refers to the overall life circumstances someone finds themselves in — encompassing their social position, fortune, and the events they encounter. More literary and encompassing than 处境 or 境地. Often used to describe how different people end up in different situations as a result of factors both within and beyond their control. Carries a slightly fatalistic or narrative tone.
